The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Evelyn Dyer can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Thank you.

Condolence From: John Anderson
Condolence: I never really knew Mrs Dyer, but she raised some mighty good kids. That tells me all I need to know. My sincere condolences to all of you.

Condolence: We will miss our birthday calls, beef-hash and fried cornbread, as well as the fluffiest buttermilk biscuits that would just melt in your mouth and gravy of course. I must agree with Kim, the chicken and dumplings were wonderful. When I was little, I would sneak a few pinches of dough before she dropped them in the chicken broth. Her iced tea was always freshly brewed. Every now and then, she would send a care package through Joyce to work (bacon, egg & cheese biscuit) that was delicious every time. She loved to watch the Andy Griffith shows. I will miss listening to her quote scripture and singing gospel hymns the most. I will miss taking a Christmas tree and setting it up while she was at church, so we could surprise her with a fresh tree all lit up for her to enjoy until the New Year. Most of all, I will miss her calling me "My Tistie Baby, my first grandchild". I was given this nickname because Shane could not say, Kristie, so I was her Tistie Baby. She will always hold a special place in my heart.

Condolence: I just know Mrs Dyer is with my Grammy Lawson up in heaven! I have wonderful memories as a little girl going to see her at your house . Such great times. I to this day still think she made the BEST Chicken and Dumplings.

Condolence: I cannot even imagine what my life would be like without the influence of my Aunt Evelyn in it. When we first moved to Florida in 1971, I could hardly wait to go to Aunt Evelyn's house every chance I got. During the first two or three years that we lived there, for whatever reason, my parents stopped going to church. Even though she still had five kids living at home, Aunt Evelyn would come and pick me and my sister up for church on Sunday mornings, Sunday nights and Wednesday nights. My first lessons about missionaries were from First Baptist of Ocoee. My passion for missions today started way back then. I love my Aunt Evelyn and my cousins with all my heart and am so grateful for her and her faithfulness all these years. I can hear the Lord saying to her, "Well done, thou good and faithful servant, thou just been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter now into the joy of thy Lord." Matthew 25:21.
